Can you tell me what this is?

what is this?

So our baby ladybugs have, for the most part, all grown up and taken leave of our watching spot for them. I let my snapdragons go completely to pot (or more accurately, to seed) so as not to disturb the cute bugs. So I was quite perturbed to learn yesterday that they may not be ladybugs at all, but rather potato beetles, which apparently are not things you want around in your garden (luckily, we don’t have any potatoes).

I researched potato beetles last night, and first thing this morning, I headed out to see what in fact was hanging out with my seedy flowers (I was still miffed that I let me snapdragons die for these pesty little bugs). So I was relieved to see that of the bugs left, some were definitely ladybugs. But there is still this one bug with strange markings that I’m not sure of – this is the one that sparked the potato beetle concern, but I’m fairly certain that’s not what it is.

Do you have a clue what this is? There’s a prize in it for anyone who can identify the mystery bug (the prize may or may not have anything to do with the many snapdragon seeds I now have).
