Berry Productive Day
After an unexpectedly frenzied week filled with last-minute babysitting for the girls, we took advantage of a beautiful day to get out and enjoy summer while it’s still here. We made our way to a you-pick farm and made ourselves comfortable between two rows of red and gold raspberries. Big Sister is a natural, picking her berries with the utmost scrutiny, but working quickly to fill her pail. Baby is also quite adept at picking the berries, but she tends to like to put them into her mouth rather than her pail. All in all, it was lots of fun and a day I think we’ll remember for some time to come.
We ended up with 2 small pails of berries (one red, one golden), and it only came to $8.00 (although I gave them $10 to compensate for Baby’s overage). Not enough for my annual jam-making in addition to our snacking, so I think tomorrow we shall plan to make raspberry tarts. Yum.
